Mission Statement
The Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University advances a dual mission: To promote the study of the Intermountain West across all academic disciplines, both on and off campus, and to support BYU’s educational aims of fostering faith, enlarging intellect, building character, and promoting lifelong learning and civic engagement. The Center fulfills this mission by supporting research, publishing, and teaching; sponsoring public programs and events; and facilitating the creation of scholarly work that connects academic and broader public audiences.
