Education Awards
The Charles Redd Center for Western Studies invites applications from educators K-12 who would like to develop course curricula, fund ongoing classroom projects, or research some aspect of the American experience in the Mountain West (defined as the states of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico).
The Redd Center encourages creative proposals. Some suggestions might be creating kits to teach units on state or regional studies, developing a program about state or regional history, purchasing books to assist in a study of the state or the west, giving travel and supply funds to teachers to research a topic of interest that could be used in the classroom, or providing assistance in creating a computer-based class assignment.
Funds are not to be used as a salary, capital equipment expenses may not exceed $100 and supplies must be reusable. The funds may not be used for class field trips. The amount of the award will be determined by the project needs as indicated in the application, up to a maximum of $1,000.
Applicants should sign in as a registered site user, or create a new user login and follow the instructions on the To Do List.
